Keep an eye on the weather-stripping
The weather-stripping is the black rubber strip that runs along the bottom of your garage door that's there to keep out rain and any other elements while the door is closed. However, if you notice that pieces are missing or it seems to be breaking down, it's time to get it replaced to ensure the inside of your garage remains safe. You can find it at your local hardware store, then cut it to size and replace it in the grooves along the bottom.
Make sure to test safety features
There's an easy way to ensure that your garage door opener's safety features are properly working and will make sure anyone around your garage door will be free from harm! To test the sensors that tell the door that something is beneath it, all you have to do is place something in front of the sensor as the door is closing, or even wave your hand over it. Your door should stop and go back up when that happens, if not call an expert!
